Stories of survival. Stories of courage. Stories of oppression.Stories of faith. Stories of gender. Stories of sexualties. Stories shape our identity. Narratives can play a powerful role in how many our people navigate and shape meaning in their lives. Uncovering the richness of resilience known and unknown to us…to re-member what we have forgotten; to make the invisible….visible. In this workshop platica, we will discuss ways to recognize the healing power of stories by bringing forth the wisdom and strengths in our personal and family stories to re-shape painful stories. We will incorporate aspects of Narrative Therapy with our framework of a Chicanx Psychology/Worldview to explore applied ways of re-storying our experiences in ways that affirm our cultural identity and legacies. c/s
