Explorations in Chicana/o/x Identity: A Chicanx Psychology Course – Summer 2023

May 23rd – June 27th 2023

This is a 6 week on-line course series in Chicana/o/x Psychology. This course is open to anyone with an interest in this content. Each session will be 1.5 hours and evaluation sent to participants after each session. After evaluations are completed, participants will be emailed their certificate of attendance and after all 6 are completed they will receive a certificate of course completion.

This will be a Zoom event (Zoom.us)

This course will explore the different influences in Chicana/o/x identity development and its impact on individual and community wellness and well-being. This course is part of the Institute’s on-going series in Chicana/o/x Psychology. The role of Chicana/o/x ethnic identity is a foundational aspect and the most researched area in Chicana/o/x Psychology. Chicana/o/x identity is also a core aspect of the Chicana/o/x experience historically and contemporarily. Participants will receive their Zoom link to the class 30 minutes before each session. The registration for the entire series is $70.

No external readings and no exams. Participants will be required to respond to what they learned in each session via an evaluation. The classes will be recorded and the recorded sessions will be available for one week after the live date. So, participants may still receive credit if they view and respond to the evaluation of each session.
